Role Overview
Carry out procurement transactions in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Assist the Procurement manager in sourcing, procuring and expediting the receipt of materials. Support with the logistics, customs clearances and material transportation activities.
Responsibilities
Procurement
- Independently handling sourcing of standards items and components from international and local suppliers as agreed with the Procurement Manager.
- Preparation of the purchase documentation including the Purchase Order.
- Coordinate with suppliers and expedite the shipment and receipt of materials as per the production plan and requirements. Ensure timely delivery of orders and maintain proper follow up with the vendor inclusive of ensuring payment schedule.
- Analyse quotes and verify with engineering department regarding technical suitability.
- Negotiate prices and delivery terms where applicable.
- Carry out evaluation of suppliers where needed.
- Ensure compliance to Procurement policies and process.
- Be updated about information regarding key suppliers, stockists.
- Manage and maintain good relationship with key supplier stake holders.
Logistics & Store
- Schedule shipping with relevant parties to develop a plan for what goods need to be shipped when and where. Ensure that all parties, including shippers, transporters, and receivers, are clear on their duties.
- Coordinate and ensure proper paperwork is made available for the inbound / outbound shipping.
- Comply with the requirements of the Quality and HSE Management systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a technical discipline
- Valid UAE driving license is desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent planning & organizing skills
- Excellent negotiation and analytical skills
- Highly numerate
- Attention to detail
- Proficient with MS Office and ERP system.
- Ideally 3 to 5 years’ experience in procurement role in water industry
- Experience in international sourcing
