Responsibilities

  • Develop mechanical design packages including piping layouts, pump sizing, valve selection, tank design, and mechanical equipment specifications.
  • Prepare and review P&IDs, PFDs, general arrangement drawings, and equipment datasheets.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations (pressure drop, flow rates, pump head calculations).
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant standards: ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, NFPA, AWWA.
  • Conduct equipment selection for:
    • Pumps (centrifugal, submersible, dosing)
    • Blowers, compressors
    • Filters, clarifiers, screens
    • RO systems, UF/MF skids
    • Chemical dosing equipment
  • Coordinate with internal stake holder teams during design and site execution.
  • Review vendor drawings, technical submittals, and ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Prepare BOQs, technical evaluations, and support procurement activities.
  • Monitor contractor activities and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Provide support for maintenance planning, preventive maintenance schedules, and spare parts lists.
  • Prepare O&M manuals and training material for plant operators.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • 3–10+ years of experience in water/wastewater treatment or desalination projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Pumps, valves, piping systems, RO, UF/MF, clarification, filtration systems
  • Mechanical equipment used in treatment plants
  • Experience with engineering software: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit (optional)
  • Familiarity with international codes: ASME, API, AWWA, ISO.
