Job Overview
The Tax Manager oversees the preparation and timely submission of all global tax filings, ensuring compliance with corporate income tax, VAT/GST, withholding tax, and other indirect taxes across multiple jurisdictions. They coordinate with local advisors and finance teams to maintain accuracy and adherence to regulations. This role implements global tax strategies, provides planning advice for cross-border transactions, and manages the impact of international tax reforms. Additionally, the manager leads transfer pricing compliance, supports global tax reporting, and handles tax audits and controversies, safeguarding the company's tax risk and regulatory compliance worldwide.
Responsibilities
Global Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Manage the preparation, review, and timely submission of all global tax filings, including corporate income tax, VAT/GST, withholding tax, and other indirect taxes.
- Coordinate with local tax advisors and finance teams to ensure full compliance across jurisdictions.
- Ensure the accuracy of tax returns, tax payments, and statutory filings in accordance with local regulations.
International Tax Strategy & Planning
- Implement global tax strategies to support international growth and optimize the global effective tax rate.
- Support tax planning advice for cross-border transactions, business restructurings, and intercompany funding arrangements.
- Analyse the impact of global tax reforms (e.g., BEPS, Pillar 1 & 2, digital services taxes) and recommend compliant, tax-efficient solutions.
Tax Provision & Financial Reporting
- Lead the preparation of global tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740 or IFRS.
- Support quarterly and annual tax reporting, including disclosures and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with external auditors on tax-related matters and ensure SOX/internal control compliance.
Transfer Pricing Management
- Maintain and enforce global transfer pricing policies.
- Ensure compliance with local transfer pricing documentation requirements, including master and local files.
- Support transfer pricing audits and economic analyses for intercompany transactions.
Risk Management & Tax Audits
- Monitor global tax risks and manage communications with tax authorities in multiple jurisdictions.
- Oversee the defense of global tax audits, inquiries, and controversies.
- Ensure the company maintains robust documentation and risk assessment frameworks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Master's degree in Taxation or Accounting (Preferred).
- Expertise in corporate tax accounting principles.
- Strong research and technical writing skills; ability to interpret complex tax laws.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and tax compliance software.
- High attention to detail, analytical mindset, and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to influence stakeholders across departments.
- Ability to work independently and lead multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
- 5-8 years of relevant tax experience.
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) (preferred, not required)
- Certified Management Accountant(CMA) (preferred, not required)
- Taxation and Accounting Diplomas/Certificates (preferred, not required)
- ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) (preferred, not required)
