Job Overview:

 

This position is a Mid-level role reporting to the Project Manager. The Assistant Manager must assist the Project Manager and is accountable for the full cycle of project delivery, spanning from contract initiation (Purchase Order) to financial realization (Cash). Responsibilities include organizing project kick-off meetings with Clients to establish clear expectations, develop, coordinate and maintain detailed project schedules for monitoring scope, cost, and timelines, and ensuring alignment across multiple internal and external stakeholders. The role also involves proactive identification and communication of project risks, driving timely resolution of challenges, ensuring receipt of project completion certificates from customers, and coordinating with finance teams to close projects efficiently.

 

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Project Charter Preparation: Assist to develop comprehensive charters defining objectives, scope, deliverables, stakeholders, and governance frameworks.
  • Scope Management: To assist in establishment, monitor, and control project scope to ensure alignment with contractual obligations, while managing changes effectively.
  • Cost Management: Assist to prepare project budgets, track costs against forecasts, and implement control measures to maintain financial discipline.
  • Schedule Management: Coordinate, assist to Build and maintain detailed project schedules, track milestones, and implement corrective measures to mitigate delays.
  • Risk Management: Identify risks at every project stage, perform impact assessments, and implement mitigation and contingency strategies.
  • Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with clients, partners, vendors, and internal teams to align expectations and achieve shared objectives.
  • Procurement Management: Coordinate with procurement team for strategical alignment, vendor selection, contract compliance, and timely material and service delivery.
  • Logistics Management: To coordinate for logistics to ensure availability of equipment, resources, and supplies within project timelines.
  • Trend Analysis: Evaluate performance data to identify patterns, deviations, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Forecasting Techniques: Apply forecasting methods to anticipate cost, schedule, and resource requirements, enabling proactive decision-making.
  • Progress Reporting: Utilize performance measurement tools such as Earned Value Management (EVM), S-Curves, and variance analysis to track progress and report performance.
  • Facilitation & Conflict Resolution: Coordinate and participate in collaborative sessions, mediate differences, and resolve conflicts constructively to maintain project momentum.
  • Project Performance Dashboards: Develop and maintain dashboards to provide real-time visibility into project progress and KPIs.
  • Decision-Making: To help Project Manager to identify & apply structured methodologies and analytical insights to support timely decisions.
  • Cash Flow Management: To help Project Managers by monitoring and manage project-related inflows and outflows to align with organizational financial objectives.
  • Construction Management: To coordinate with Construction and Commissioning teams and ensure timely completion of Project.
  • Communication Management: To help Project Manager in establishing effective communication protocols, ensuring timely and transparent information sharing across all levels.
  • Project Accounting Awareness: Maintain awareness of project accounting principles and practices to support compliance and financial accuracy.

 

 

 

Requirements :

 

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or Equivalent Technical Discipline)

10-14 years of progressive experience in project management, preferably within the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) industry or related sectors.

Proven ability in cross-functional teams across Engineering, Procurement, and Construction disciplines for successful project execution.

Strong technical expertise to address engineering challenges with practical solutions and mitigation strategies.

Demonstrated capability in planning, coordination, stakeholder management, and performance tracking.

 

Certification: 

 

Professional certifications in Project Management or related areas (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
