Role Overview.
The Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for performing the design and development of water and wastewater treatment plants. They will be responsible for preparing and executing process engineering tasks. The Senior Process Engineer will work closely with the Detail Engineering, Project Management and Proposal teams to understand customer needs and provide technical expertise during proposal development. They will also collaborate with the Process & Applications Engineering team, Commissioning, and NPI teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. The Senior Process Engineer will represent Gradiant in compliance with company culture and standards.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement new treatment processes and technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Develop water/wastewater treatment process trains along with the process team.
• Perform equipment design/sizing. • Develop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Heat and Mass Balance & Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Coordinate proposal development with internal teams (BD, engineering, process, Projects, operations, safety), as required.
• Participate in the technical evaluation process for vendor selection and risk assessment.
• Develop project costing through the lifecycle of the project and submit to business development for pricing.
• Prepare and deliver client proposals on time and with the highest work quality.
• Participate in and present at customer meetings if required (Bid Clarifications/HAZOP/HAZID/FMEA study)
• Prepare detailed process engineering deliverables (control logic, data sheets, commissioning and pre-commissioning procedures, etc.) and work closely with the project and engineering team to assist them after the award of the project.
• Support commissioning and site-related activities where and when required.
• Maintain good communication with all stakeholders and provide visibility on direction and results.
• Perform design calculations using membrane simulation tools, statistics, and data reconciliation software.
• Develop and optimize treatment processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Ensure all design work is completed in compliance with the company's standards, policies, and procedures.
• Review and approve project documents, including process design basis, process design packages, and equipment specifications.
• Provide technical training to internal and external customers on treatment processes and related technologies.
• Evaluate current treatment processes and identify areas for improvement.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training materials for treatment processes.
• Ensure safety, health, and environmental compliance for all activities under their control.
• Evaluate customer’s RFQ/Tender Package/User Requirement Specification and identify customer’s requirements.
Requirements
• Candidate must possess at least formal trade qualifications. Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Chemical/Environmental Engineering is desirable.
• >7 years of experience in process and application engineering in the water and wastewater industry is required for this position.
• Familiarity with various water and wastewater technologies
• Understanding of membranes and membrane processes for water treatment.
• Excellent analytical thinking, teamwork, interpersonal/communication skills, writing and problem-solving capabilities.
• Reliable, well-organized and detail-oriented
• Good proficiency in English (writing, speaking)
• Applicants must be willing to travel as and when required.
• Experience in the Semiconductor industry is an added advantage.
