Position Summary:

Plant Layout & Piping Manager leads team responsible for developing safe, efficient and cost‑effective plant layouts and piping designs for water treatment projects.

Role involves managing engineering deliverables, leading project execution, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, supporting procurement and ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage plant layout and piping engineers/designers and handle overall project execution activities.
  • Participate in 3D model review with Client (30%,60% and 90%)
  • Develop optimized plant layouts, review 3D models and approve equipment and piping arrangements.
  • Oversee piping engineering deliverables including specifications, routing plans, isometric drawings, support planning and P&ID verification.
  • Optimize hardware selection and ensure compliance with process and project requirements.

Procurement-Related Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical inputs for procurement of piping materials, valves, fittings and supports.
  • Review vendor quotes and participate in technical bid evaluations.
  • Coordinate with procurement for timely ordering of materials.
  • Review vendor drawings/documents and respond to technical queries.

Collaboration & Quality:

  • Coordinate with process, mechanical, electrical, Instrumentation, procurement, civil/structural and construction teams.
  • Ensure compliance with Piping standards and client requirements.
  • Estimate man-hours, monitor schedules, manage technical changes and support value engineering.
  • Provide technical support during construction, commissioning and resolution of site issues.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of industrial plant design and 3D modeling tools (AutoCAD,Revit,AutoCAD Plant 3D, Navisworks).
  • Understanding of piping stress analysis principles (Rohr-II,Caesar II preferred).
  • Good leadership, communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • 8–12 years of relevant experience, with at least 2–3 years in a lead role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Key Deliverables:

  • Plant layouts, piping layouts, routing plans
  • 3D model reviews and clash‑free models
  • Piping MTOs, support drawings, stress inputs/reports
  • Vendor evaluations and document reviews
  • Schedule tracking, man‑hour planning and compliance documentation
