Position Summary :
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Global Engineering Centre team to execute International and Local projects in India. The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of relevant experience, with a preference for those who have worked in an EPC environment, international project experience.
Core Responsibilities and Tasks :
- Lead the mechanical design of WTP / ETP / STP / WWTP / Desal treatment plants, including the selection and sizing of equipment such as pumps, compressors, Blowers, heat exchangers, dewatering devices, and other mechanical components, excluding tanks and pressure vessels.
- Ensure seamless integration of these components into the overall treatment system.
- Equipment Specification and Procurement / RFQ: Prepare technical specifications for mechanical equipment and work with vendors to procure the required components.
- Evaluate equipment proposals and make recommendations based on technical and budgetary considerations.
- Confirm compliance with customer specifications for equipment and material types;
- Prepare equipment List, equipment datasheets, valve lists, Component datasheet, etc.)
- Review and approve drawings and documents from Vendors.
- Interface with Process, Civil / Structural, Piping, and Instrumentation Engineers for complete engineering work.
- Collaborate with the Technical project manager to plan and execute projects on time and on budgeted manhours.
- Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and progress assessments to ensure project objectives are met.
- Perform engineering calculations to assess the performance and reliability of mechanical systems. Address technical challenges and propose solutions to optimise system performance.
- Quality Control and Compliance: Ensure that all mechanical designs and installations comply with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices. Conduct quality control reviews to verify design integrity and safety.
- Cost Estimation and Budget Management: Collaborate with the project team to prepare cost estimates for mechanical components and equipment. Identify cost-saving opportunities where applicable.
Position Requirements :
- Formal Education-
Required: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Knowledge and Experience :
Required: 5-8 years in mechanical engineering with expertise in water and/or wastewater treatment systems.
- Technical Skills / Requirements :
Required:
Familiar with industrial standards like ANSI, ASME, API, etc.
Strong understanding of various mechanical components and equipment used in water and/or
wastewater treatment systems.
The ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a cross-functional team.
