Position Summary :

 

The Senior Procurement Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing the organization’s sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management activities to ensure cost-effective and reliable supply of goods and services. This role involves developing and executing procurement strategies that enhance operational efficiency, maintain product quality, and support overall business objectives. The incumbent oversees end-to-end supply chain functions—including inventory, logistics, and demand forecasting—while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards. The role requires proactive cost control, risk management, and strong stakeholder collaboration across departments. The incumbent would also lead and develop a high-performing procurement team and drive continuous improvement within procurement operations.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES (Pre bid and Post Order).

 

  • Sourcing and Supplier Management: Identifying reliable suppliers, negotiating terms, and maintaining strong relationships with them to ensure the company receives quality products at competitive prices.
  • Procurement Strategy: Developing and implementing strategies to optimize procurement processes, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency while maintaining product quality and supplier relationships.
  • Supply Chain Management: Overseeing the end-to-end supply chain process, including inventory management, demand forecasting, and logistics coordination.
  • Cost Control: Monitoring and controlling procurement costs, tracking spending, and finding opportunities for cost savings and cost avoidance.
  • Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating potential risks related to supply chain disruptions, changes in market conditions, and regulatory issues that could impact procurement operations.
  • Team Management: Leading and managing a team of procurement professionals, setting goals, providing guidance, and ensuring the team operates smoothly.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Collaborating with other departments within the company to understand their procurement needs and aligning procurement strategies with overall business goals.
  • Compliance: Ensuring that all procurement activities adhere to legal and ethical standards, as well as any industry-specific regulations.

 

Position Requirements :

 

  1. FORMAL EDUCATION:

 

Required:  Bachelors in Engineering / Environmental Science.

Preferred: MBA with exposure in   Logistics and Supply Chain Management in a EPC environment (Water)

 

  1. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

 

Required: / Preferred:   Manpower & service contractors. Direct and Indirect procurement. Contracts administration.

 

KEY FOCUS:

a) Should be from the Water Industry or worked for contractors who do jobs for the Water Industry

b) Has managed a team before

c) Significant knowledge and experience with Installation and Manpower Contractors – Familiarity within India

d) Can handle pressure and is good with Stakeholder Management – Both Internal and External

 

  1. TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

 

 Required:  ERP system knowledge, Logistics Planning, Data analytics

 Preferred:  SAP,  ISO – IMS systems, CPP

 

 

  1. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 20%
