Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced design Manager with a strong background in 3D Model / multidisciplinary design integration to join our Global Engineering Center team to execute International and Local projects in India. The ideal candidate will have 8-12 years of relevant experience, with a preference for those who have worked in an EPC environment, international project experience and possess a deep understanding of 3D models, Piping, Structural, E&I, modelling tools. The role requires exceptional Design skills, including the ability to coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams.
Core Responsibilities:
- Design execution for water and wastewater treatment projects globally.
- Ensure that design is completed accurately within schedule and budget.
- Support the Head of Engineering Manager in establishing, maintaining and applying procedures and protocols that will enhance the quality, efficiency and repeatability of design activities throughout the department.
- Oversee and actively participate in the provision of CAD support to engineering, and project execution.
- Lead / Manage 3rd party design company / outsourcing party to complete the project on time.
- Coordinate all drafting inputs and deliverables across all projects to ensure timely and accurate completion of drafting activities.
- Review technical specifications and ensure compliance with customer requirements.
- Oversee and coordinate rigorous review of all drafting deliverables to ensure deliverables communicate the objectives effectively and consistently.
- Oversee preparation of general arrangement drawings, piping detail drawings, skid arrangement drawings, Module arrangement drawings etc.
- Lead 3D model / design review (30%, 60% and 90%) internally and with Client, to ensure highest standards of designs are met.
- Liaise with clients and customers on technical aspects, making justifications as necessary for design direction Participate in internal and external design reviews.
- Coordinate / interface with various disciplines to make sure all discipline review is done on time on quality.
- Actively mentor and train drafting team to ensure development goals are met.
- Oversee development of drafting standards and procedures to ensure continuous improvement goals are met.
- Maintain CAD document archive and retrieval for projects.
- Actively participate in document control processes to ensure the highest standards of drafting are met.
- Review fabrication drawings from external fabricators to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Collaborate with PMs, QA/QC, skid Fabricators and Construction Manager.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in Engineering Mechanical or equal.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience leading a team of draftsmen on multiple medium sized, complex projects
- Relevant experience in mechanical drafting, preferably in medium to heavy industrial background.
- Proficiency in computer skills like MS Office software, AutoCAD, 3D models.
- Detail design of complex/ skid-based /module-based treatment / stick-built systems/plants.
- Familiar with API, ASME, AWS, NACE and AWWA codes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with all levels of management.
- Ability to travel as required for project needs.
- Experience working in a multicultural environment and in an international business.
- Extensive experience with 2D / 3D drawing packages
- Expert in Plant 3D and AutoCAD. Revit experience highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and specifications.
- Piping Knowledge and AutoCAD Plant 3D / Revit /Autodesk Navis Manager software TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: (TIME SPENT AWAY FROM HOME OR OTHER TYPICAL OFFICE LOCATION)
