Job Overview

Responsible for HSE compliance and ensure that the sustainable and continuous operations of the Factory and Laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor company safety policies in compliance with UAE and Abu Dhabi health and safety laws. 
• Conduct regular inspections, risk assessments (JSA, HIRA), and safety audits to identify hazards at the factory and the lab.
• Ensure all employees and contractors follow the safety policies and standards
• Investigate workplace incidents, near-misses, and accidents, and prepare detailed reports.  
• Organize and conduct safety training, toolbox talks, and emergency drills (fire, evacuation, etc.).  
• Maintain safety documentation, including permits, inspection records, and training logs.
• Ensure proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)  and enforce safety protocols. 
• Liaise with government authorities (Civil Defence , Abu Dhabi Municipality etc.) for safety compliance and permits.  
• Stay updated on new UAE safety regulations and industry best practices.  
• Handle the inspections and audits from local authorities
• Work and close off any non conformities / observations raised during the inspections.
• Complete all required documentation and work as per the Integrated Management system.
• Act as the primary liaison with auditors from all government agencies, including but not limited to Abu Dhabi Municipality, Civil Defence, Environment Agency Abu Dhabi (EAD), and Department of Energy (DoE).
• Ensure full compliance with Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHAD) standards and maintain readiness for all scheduled and unscheduled inspections.
• Prepare, coordinate, and present all required documentation, records, and permits during audits, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
• Develop and maintain an audit preparedness plan, ensuring that all departments meet regulatory requirements consistently.
• Track, document, and oversee the closure of non-conformities or observations raised during audits within agreed timelines.
• Monitor updates to Abu Dhabi and UAE regulatory frameworks and ensure the company proactively adapts policies, processes, and training to remain compliant.
• Support management in building a culture of compliance across all departments, ensuring that every employee understands their responsibilities.

Requirements

• Bachelors  degree (Degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering or Equivalent is a Plus)
• NEBOSH IGC (International General Certificate) certification is mandatory.
• Training or auditor certification in Quality Control and Management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 18001, OHSAS).
• Minimum 3 years of progressive specific experience in HSE in chemical manufacturing industry.
• Knowledge of QHSE Management Systems.
