Job Overview :

The Jr. Process Engineer plays a key role in the design, development, and optimization of water and wastewater treatment plants. This position involves contributing to proposal preparation and executing process engineering activities aligned with project and client requirements. The role requires close collaboration with sales, business development, process engineering, and new product introduction teams to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery. The Process Engineer ensures that all work complies with company standards and fosters a culture of continuous improvement.

 

Responsibilities :

 

  • Develop and implement innovative water and wastewater treatment processes to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Design process trains for water and wastewater treatment plants in coordination with the process engineering team.
  • Perform equipment design and sizing to meet process requirements.
  • Prepare and review detailed Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Heat and Mass Balances, and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including business development, engineering, project management, operations, and safety during proposal preparation.
  • Participate in vendor technical evaluations, risk assessments, and contribute to selection decisions.
  • Develop comprehensive project cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle and collaborate with business development for pricing.
  • Deliver client proposals punctually while maintaining high standards of technical quality.
  • Participate in and present during customer meetings, including bid clarifications and safety/risk workshops such as HAZOP, HAZID, and FMEA.
  • Prepare detailed process engineering deliverables including control logic, datasheets, commissioning and pre-commissioning procedures, supporting project and engineering teams post-award.
  • Assist with commissioning and site support activities as required.
  • Maintain clear communication with all project stakeholders, providing status updates and transparency on project progress.
  • Utilize membrane simulation tools, statistical analysis, and data reconciliation software for design calculations.
  • Continuously optimize treatment processes ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Review and approve key project documents including design bases, design packages, and equipment specifications.
  • Provide technical training to internal teams and external customers on treatment processes and related technologies.
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and evolving regulations in water and wastewater treatment.
  • Evaluate existing treatment processes and recommend improvements
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training documentation for treatment processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations related to assigned activities.
  • Analyze customer RFQ, tender packages, and user requirement specifications to clearly identify and meet client needs
  • Prepare project kickoff packages and transfer detailed documentation to the execution teams.

 

 

Requirements :

 

Qualification

 

Bachelor's degree, Post Graduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering is highly desirable.

 

Skills 

 

  • Familiarity with a variety of water and wastewater treatment technologies.
  • Good understanding of membrane filtration processes and membrane system design.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and well-organized.
  • Proficiency in English (both verbal and written).
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-energy, start-up environment.

Experience 

 

Minimum 3 years of experience in process and application engineering within the water and wastewater sector.
