Role Overview
We are seeking a highly precise and driven Lab Technician to join our advanced water analytical laboratory. This role is essential to our R&D, project execution, and client success workflows. You will operate state-of-the-art analytical instrumentation and perform wet chemistry testing to characterize complex industrial streams, evaluate treatability, and validate our advanced treatment systems.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Advanced Instrumentation Operation: Safely set up, calibrate, and operate complex analytical instrumentation, including:
- ICP, IC, TOC, and Auto titration instruments.
- Wet Chemistry & Bench Testing: Conduct routine physical and chemical testing (e.g., pH, conductivity, alkalinity, turbidity) matching recognized regulatory methods such as EPA and APHA protocols.
- Cross-Functional Lab Support: Provide rapid and accurate analytical support for internal R&D teams, engineering/project divisions, and external industrial clients.
- Sample Management: Prepare and manage sample logistics, preservative protocols, reagents, and shipping/sampling kits for field site deployments.
- Equipment Maintenance & QA/QC: Perform routine preventative maintenance, primary troubleshooting on lab instruments, and manage contractor relationships for specialized service needs.
- Documentation & Data Integrity: Maintain clear and detailed laboratory logs and test results.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s or associate's degree in chemistry, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a strictly related scientific discipline.
- Technical Experience:
- Hands-on experience operating and maintaining ICP, IC, or TOC instruments is highly preferred.
- Strong working proficiency in wet chemistry methods and automated titrations.
- Familiarity with standardized analytical methodologies (EPA, ASTM, or Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater).
- Competencies: Strong numerical ability, acute attention to detail, and a safe, methodical approach to managing laboratory chemicals.
