Job Overview :

 

The position is accountable for overseeing and directing all site construction activities across multiple disciplines, ensuring compliance with contractual, technical, quality, and safety requirements. The role involves leadership of the site construction team, coordination with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and the head office, and effective management of project execution until completion. Responsibilities extend to contract administration, financial tracking, resource management, and ensuring adherence to statutory and client-specific compliance requirements.

 

Responsibilities :

 

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Provide overall leadership for site construction activities, supervising multidisciplinary teams and ensuring efficient execution.
  • Conduct regular site reviews, evaluate contractor performance, and hold weekly review meetings to track progress and address bottlenecks.
  • Ensure smooth coordination between site personnel and head office teams for project-related deliverables.

  Client and Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Serve as the primary interface with the client for all site-related activities, maintaining effective communication and resolving issues promptly.
  • Participate in client meetings, provide updates, and ensure alignment with contractual obligations and project milestones.

Contract and Commercial Management:

  • Review and interpret contract documentation to ensure construction activities are aligned with terms and conditions.
  • Manage billing processes including preparation, certification, and submission of construction bills, as well as follow-up for client payments.
  • Oversee contractor bill reconciliation, client bill reconciliation, and final contract closure activities.
  • Ensure accurate material reconciliation, identification of surplus materials, and coordination with the head office for redistribution.

Compliance and Safety Management:

  • Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, company HSE policies, and client-specific safety protocols.
  • Oversee HR and statutory compliance activities in accordance with client requirements and legal regulations.
  • Promote labor welfare practices and maintain a safe, compliant, and productive work environment.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly meetings with respective contractors and safety personnel.

Project and Asset Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of site construction, including pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure periodic maintenance and accountability of site assets, with inspections carried out at defined intervals (e.g., once every three months).
  • Drive effective planning and resource allocation across multiple construction disciplines to achieve project targets.

 

 

Requirements :

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related discipline).
  • Expertise in site construction management across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, verification, and contract administration.
  • Familiarity with HR compliance requirements, statutory regulations, and labor welfare practices.
  • Strong understanding of safety standards, regulations, and best practices for construction sites.
  • Effective leadership, team management, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Financial acumen in billing, reconciliation, and payment follow-up processes.
  • Proactive planning of activities and ability to guide and support fellow site team members.
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in site construction management, with proven expertise in handling large-scale, multidisciplinary projects.
  • Relevant certifications in project management, construction safety, contract management, or related technical domains are preferred.
