About the role 

The Accountant will support the Finance team in managing the accounting and financial reporting activities for entities across Southeast Asia. Reporting to the Operations Controller (SEA), this role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting project accounting activities, ensuring timely month-end reporting, and assisting with statutory compliance requirements.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial operations while collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, auditors, and external service providers.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.

  • Prepare and process month-end closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and group reporting schedules.

  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly financial reporting for entities under the assigned portfolio.

  • Support the preparation of management reports and financial analysis as required.

 

Project Accounting & Cost Control

  • Support project accounting activities, including project cost tracking, revenue recognition, and financial monitoring.

  • Assist in the preparation and review of monthly project financial reports.

  • Work closely with project teams and Finance Manager to ensure accurate project reporting and cost allocation.

 

Accounts Receivable & Intercompany Transactions

  • Manage accounts receivable activities, including customer invoicing, receipt application, and collection follow-ups.

  • Handle intercompany transactions, including intercompany invoicing, recharges, settlements, and loan accounting.

  • Ensure proper reconciliation of intercompany balances across entities.

 

Banking & Treasury Support

  • Coordinate the issuance, renewal, and administration of Bank Guarantees (BG) and Standby Letters of Credit (SBLC).

  • Support banking activities and maintain relevant documentation.

 

Audit, Tax & Compliance

  • Support statutory audits and coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely completion of audit requirements.

  • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules, supporting documents, and reconciliations.

  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including tax filings, annual returns, and other regulatory obligations.

  • Support implementation and maintenance of internal controls and finance processes.

 

Administrative & Process Improvement

  • Assist in streamlining finance processes and strengthening internal controls across local entities.

  • Support ad hoc finance projects and assignments as required by management.

  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Finance team where necessary.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, ACCA, CA Singapore, or equivalent professional qualification.

  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or audit-related roles.

  • Prior experience in project accounting, regional accounting, or external audit will be an added advantage.

  • Experience handling multi-entity accounting and intercompany transactions is preferred.

  • Proficient in SAP S/4HANA.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Good understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and statutory compliance requirements.

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and regions.
