Job Overview:
Gradiant is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Project Manager in all aspects of project execution. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Planning, HSE, and Testing & Commissioning, to ensure successful project delivery.
The Project Engineer will play a key role in managing project safety, schedule, cost, and quality, assisting the Project Manager in driving efficiency and excellence. This role offers a dynamic and challenging environment with significant opportunities for innovation and career growth.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review project schedules in coordination with the Planner.
- Obtain project status updates from Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Testing & Commissioning teams and ensure regular updates.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to execute project objectives, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality completion.
- Maintain and ensure accuracy of key project documents, including schedules, HSE documents (JMS & JSA), procurement lists, and construction manpower/equipment planning.
- Track project progress, analyze trends, and prepare status reports with recommendations for action.
- Interact with clients to understand their requirements and translate them into actionable project plans.
- Address client concerns, complaints, and requests throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify and resolve project-related issues in collaboration with the team.
- Ensure all project activities comply with industry standards, codes, policies, and performance requirements.
- Monitor project compliance with health, safety, contractual, and legal requirements.
- Work with external vendors and purchasing teams to specify equipment components, manage material take-offs, requisitions, and coordinate deliveries.
- Ensure alignment of procurement activities with project cost control and schedule requirements.
- Track project performance against key metrics and identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain project databases and ensure proper documentation and backups.
- Conduct regular meetings, prepare meeting minutes (MOM), and ensure clear communication among stakeholders.
- Work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Support Gradiant’s subsidiaries globally, as required.
- Maintain strong organizational and communication skills to ensure smooth project execution.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in construction of water and wastewater treatment plants, engineering sector, refineries, chemical plants, or equivalent industries.
- Certifications & Software Proficiency:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Project or other project management software.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks and AutoCAD is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook).
