Role Overview

The Senior Commissioning Engineer is responsible for executing and leading commissioning activities for Industrial (ETP) and Municipal Effluent Treatment Plants (STP) and Water Treatment Plants (UPW/Desalination). The role covers the full commissioning lifecycle—from pre-commissioning to handover—ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery.

    Trouble Shooting
  • Engineering & Documentation
    Review P&IDs, PFDs, Mass Balances, Design Basis Reports, Control Philosophy, and Cause & Effect matrices
    Work closely with Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control teams to ensure installations meet design intent
    Prepare and review Commissioning Plans, Checklists, Procedures, Performance Test Procedures and Reports, SOPs, and O&M Manuals
    Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and manage commissioning punch lists
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting
    Conduct data analysis to diagnose equipment and process issues
    Identify defects in design, installation, and functionality of equipment, piping, instruments, and controls
    Provide technical feedback and ensure closure of identified issues
    Support Site Acceptance Tests and Performance Testing with client endorsement
  • Project Support
    Collaborate with project teams to ensure smooth project execution and closure

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Biochemical Engineering. Other qualifications may be considered based on relevant experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on field experience in commissioning of water and wastewater treatment systems.
  • Proven experience in execution of overseas projects is highly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Mandarin (both written and spoken) is preferred as the role would support China and Taiwan in addition to other project sites globally
  • Ability to travel to project sites locally and globally (50% travel) when required
  • Experienced in the following technology
  • Reverse Osmosis (RO)
    Membrane loading, commissioning, operation, and troubleshooting
    Anti-scalant selection and dechlorination
    Cleaning and sanitization (CIP/SIP)
    LSI, SDI analysis, and membrane profiling
    Troubleshooting & Training
  • Other Treatment Processes
    Ultrafiltration (UF)
    Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF)
    MBR / MBBR
    Clarifiers
    Ammonia Strippers
    Filter Press and Centrifuge
    Crystallizers and Evaporators
