Gradiant, an international end-to-end water solutions provider, has acquired Malaysia-based Sigma Water Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd to expand its regional operations throughout Southeast Asia and provide support to its project achievements in Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Sigma Water Engineering, based in Selangor, Malaysia, is an industrial water and wastewater treatment company with repeated success in delivering industrial water treatment systems in Food and Beverage, Oil and Gas, Glove Manufacturing, and other various water intensive industries. Additionally, Sigma Water has a strong manufacturing front with a fabrication and chemical storage facility also based in Malaysia along with established relationships with both global and local customers, contractors, and other resources supplying Gradiant with further reach and experience throughout the region.
Role Overview
The Senior Operations & Maintenance Engineer is responsible for overseeing the daily installation, commissioning, and servicing of water, wastewater, and waste management systems. This role plays a key part in ensuring customer satisfaction through timely and high-quality service delivery. The engineer provides technical support, conducts site surveys and meetings, and maintains accurate documentation of all maintenance and service activities. Strong proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and automation systems, combined with a solid understanding of engineering principles and control philosophy, is essential. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are also critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for meeting daily installation and service needs and driving customer satisfaction
- Installation and commissioning of waste, waste water and water projects
- Documents all inspections, maintenance, service work, and submits paperwork in a timely basis.
- Seeks to provide technical support to customers and other service professionals as required.
- May participate in site surveys and site meetings
- Maintains clear and concise business communication proficiency, both oral and written
- Strong in engineering principles and understands control philosophy, has aptitude for trouble shooting, demonstrate strong mechanical, electrical and automation skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor/Master degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, electrical, automation or equal)
- Minimum mandatory competency (License) required : CePSWam , CePIETSO (PCP & BP)
- Experience in the industry (preferred wastewater/ water/ energy)
- Strong background in engineering and project management principles.
- General knowledge of industrial automation and instrumentation.
- Notions of mechanical design.
- Pro-active and very organized
- Able to work independently as well as in a team.
- Analytical, result oriented and able to work under tight deadlines
- Willing to travel locally and overseas as needed.
- Fluent in English and excellent command in technical writing.
