Role Overview
The incumbent will coordinate Gradiant's Field Construction and manage Operation activities in Singapore and in Southeast Asia. Responsible for the Coordination, Operations, and Maintenance of Gradiant's systems during construction, commissioning, operations and defect liability period phases. Represent Gradiant locally in compliance with Company culture and standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Field Engineering during the piloting, construction, commissioning and operation/maintenance/DLP/after sale phases of Gradiant’s Projects in Singapore and overseas with minimal supervision.
- Provide technical and hands-on support for the implementation of pilot studies and commercial operations (e.g. process adjustments, chemical preparation, preventive maintenance activities, corrective maintenance, instrument calibration, membrane cleaning, troubleshooting, process optimization) as directed by Gradiant Operations and Process Engineering Managers.
- Manage Gradiant and/or its partners’ site operators in implementing good practices for plant operations and maintenance and daily operational activities through preparation and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical training.
- Support the development, establishment, and maintenance of plant performance monitoring, reporting and improvement.
- Proactively report and investigate plant performance/reliability issues and propose practical and cost-effective solutions.
- Coordinate and oversee the relevant technical support to the operating sites, as to reduce unplanned downtime through failure analysis and corrective actions implementation.
- Support the preparation of the predictive and preventive maintenance programs at operating sites and closely monitor their performance.
- Participate in technical meetings related to Gradiant projects being executed and potential project opportunities as Gradiant’s local representative.
- Promote and support Gradiant after sales services, including spare parts, consumables, ad hoc operational and site technical support. Work closely with Engineering and Procurement departments to correctly specify and source materials and services.
- Positively promote a safe and healthy work environment and employ safe work practices at all times, including documenting incidents and recommending and following through on corrective actions.
- Monitor compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain efficient communication and information sharing between the Operations Department and Engineering/NPI Departments including writing and issuing technical reports and Return of Experience/Lessons Learned reports.
- Carry out other duties as may be assigned from time to time by your supervisor.
Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least formal trade qualifications. Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering is desirable.
- At least 2 year(s) of experience in Commissioning and/or in Operations and Maintenance in the water industry is required for this position.
- Familiar with various water and wastewater technologies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent analytical thinking, interpersonal/communication skills, writing and problem-solving capacities
- Reliable, well organized, and detail-oriented
- Strong communication skills to convey ideas and technical information effectively with team and customers.
- Excellent customer orientation, willingness to deal with people, be flexible and be able to meet customer demands
- Familiarization with mechanical, electrical, Instrumentation and Controls of process plants
- Commissioning activities like SAT/FAT, instruments, valves and controls loop check.
